When travelling in Thailand I stayed in Phuket for a few days before heading home. My favorite thing about Phuket was the hotel I stayed at, Foto Hotel. The bed was two queen size mattresses pushed together = heaven! Every last detail in this hotel was carefully selected, including the ceramic shampoo bottles in the shower. Yes, I went to Thailand and one of the most memorable things was the shampoo bottle.
I absolutely loved the liquid soap set in the shower. It was so cute, organized, beautiful and practical. I wanted to buy a set to take home, but wasn’t able to find one.
A few months after returning stateside I decided to look into finding some, or at least something similar. I looked everywhere – Bed Bath & Beyond, Target, online…and didn’t really find anything I liked. I didn’t want glass or acrylic for the shower because if it got knocked or dropped not only would it break, but it would likely chip the 1950’s porcelain tub.
That’s when I found my new favorite online store specialtybottle.com. I found the most adorable plastic Boston Round bottles. I purchased the 16oz size (PXA16P) with black pumps for $1.41 each. Yes, $1.41! Warning this site will suck you in if you’re an organizer. I ended up with all kinds of glass jars and droppers…which I used for my vanilla extract that I will post about closer to the holidays.
I waited to receive my bottles before I ordered the vinyl decals. I wanted to measurethem and decide how large I wanted the decal on the bottle. I ended up going with 3.75” wide by 1.5” tall for the artwork. I ordered my vinyl decals on Etsy from PersonalizedJewellz – who I have ordered from before.
Color: 092 Copper Metallic
Font: #17
The decals were $4.50 each + $2.50 shipping.
Once the decals arrived, I carefully placed them on to the bottles and rubbed them down really well before removing the backing.
Last step is just to fill with body wash, shampoo and conditioner and place them into the shower.
Now you’re going to ask, did the vinyl stay on the bottles in the shower with all that water and heat? Absolutely! Just make sure you ask for permanent adhesive vinyl when you place your order.
Total Project Cost:
Bottles: 3 x $1.41 = $4.23
Vinyl Decals: 3 x $4.50 = $13.50
Shipping: $2.50
TOTAL: $20.23
